Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame, said: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. He is now the symbol of Colorado for all people. When I travel, you are likely to meet people from the other end of the globe. As an example, you might meet someone who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown declared. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short period of performing with small folk music bands comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff.
