Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico in a family who was devoted to music. As a child, she was inspired by the classical music of her parents, boleros as well as the traditional romantic, ranchero, and romance ballads. Ana is an avid fan of tangos. Also, she loves operas, and every form of drama. Her mother teaches her how to sing, however she started intensive training in vocals through Flavio Belcerra at 16 when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera singer and tenor. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca at Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. While a student, and when she was a professional young within Mexico City and Guadalajara she was a member of several chamber ensembles as well as choruses. After moving from Mexico to America at the age of 2000, she sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo of classical Latin American music at private events. As a musician and teacher she has volunteered for various community-based projects due to her enthusiasm and passion for music. Ana has also been a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity to share with others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will encourage younger generations to preserve the traditions.
